Guardianes de Aves
Guardianes de Aves del Chocó Andino is an environmental education initiative that engages young people (9–15 years old) living in Pacto and nearby cloud forest communities as citizen scientists.

Protection begins with understanding.
Why it’s important
The Andean Chocó is one of the most biodiverse regions in the world—and one of the most threatened. Young people hold the key to its future.

How we do it
Over six months, participants progress through four interconnected phases:

1. Direct Observation
Field trips that encourage attention, curiosity, and sensory connection with the environment.

3. Understanding
Environmental workshops to interpret observations, linking birds with concepts of biodiversity and ecological functions.

2. Connecting
Learning to read the outdoors and other activities that generate an emotional and meaningful bond with nature.

4. Communicating and Sharing
Production of photos and videos. Disseminating learnings and narratives through social media.
BE PART OF CONSERVATION
Support this project
Guardianes de Aves trains environmental leaders through education, direct action, and ecological restoration. We are not just looking for sponsors; we are looking for allies who believe in conservation.
